Sony Vegas is a professional non-linear editing system (NLE) originallypublished by Sonic Foundry, now owned and run by Sony CreativeSoftware. Originally developed as an audio editor, it eventuallydeveloped into an NLE for video and audio from version 2.0. Vegasfeatures real-time multitrack video and audio editing on unlimitedtracks, resolution-independent video sequencing, complex effects andcompositing tools, 24-bit/192 kHz audio support, VST and DirectXplug-in effect support, and Dolby Digital surround sound mixing. It'sdesigned for Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and 7. In April 2007, Sonyalong with AMD jointly demonstrated a 64-bit version of Vegas runningon 64-bit Vista.

Sony Vegas 10, released October 11, 2010, introduces many new features such as:

Thisis a PORTABLE VERSION. All you have to do, is run this as anadministrator, otherwise, it will come out as a window that asks forthe registration code for Sony Vegas Pro 10. Run as Adminstrator, andvoila, Sony Vegas Pro 10 at your finger tips. No activation needed, sono pain in the butt trying to activate it using 2 computers, etc.
